Twisty Scarf

Handmade by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I found a pattern at Hobby Lobby hanging in front of this thread.... I thought this is just beautiful I must make one... As you know, if you know me much at all ... I hate reading and following patterns... most all of my work is something I get in my head...often from things I see.  It is kind of like my aunt who plays the piano beautifully but can't read a lick of music.  It is a different talent is how I like to think of it.  Anyway I read the pattern to see if I could follow it... and got the concept of what made this work...I went to work on the concept instead of following the pattern... So even tho this is not mine...it is kind of mine.  Thank you for looking...I hope you like!!  Hugs, Jeannie

Seafoam and Lace

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I was so excited to make this...I had some leftover yarns and I loved the look of the tri shawl that I made. The mixture of knitting with crochet really makes me happy... I like the look that you can accomplish combining the two techniques...now to learn how to take it to the next level.  Fiber Art is so much fun... the possibilities are limitless... just wish I had started 20 years sooner there is so much to learn.  Thank you for looking!! Hugs, Jeannie
There is some crochet in green and then in the off white color. I can't wait to explore new stitch combinations.

Thick and Thin Whimsical Scarf

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
I saw a scarf like this in an older Spin Off magazine and feel in love... I tried using needles to accomplish this since that is what the author of the article did...but I had no luck with needles.. So I got out my trusty Knifty Knitter...the Adult Hat one.. it's the purple one that comes in a single pack... and I went to work recreating the design on my loom... I loved the look of this.. I had to tie up the ends I just could not figure out another way to bind off the ends that looked pretty... Thank you so much for looking!!  Hugs Jeannie

Masculine Scarf

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
I made this on my 6 ft rectangle weaving loom.. it is just over 6 inches wide... It is made to weave diagonally but I wanted to try something a little different with my left over yarns... I used a chunky yarn and a lace weight yarn... My husband really loved how it turned out.. I like it lots... but I like making more feminine things best.  It was fun to try something new... thank you for looking!..Hugs Jeannie

Summer Scarf/Belt

Handmade Designs by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
This is a Summer Scarf/Belt that I made on my Fine Gauge DaLooms Loom... I used a stitch that I created myself on the looms....I used it before on a prayer shawl on a larger loom... it looks so different here...but I love the effect. The prayer shawl was larger but this took much longer. Thanks for looking!!
I have a mistake in this one...and it ended up in my picture... Can you find it?

Also I have been spinning lots... and I am getting better every day!...It is so much fun... I hope to make a new hat next week all out of my own yarn!

Ruffle Scarf!!

Jeannie Phillips
I got this in my head a few nights ago...then I found a couple of yarn stores about 40 minutes away and had a chance to go and check them out.  One of the ladies, a needle knitter was so helpful...and encouraging about my looming.  I told here that I wanted to make the ruffle and how I had it in my head...she told me I was on the right track and gave me a couple of pointers...well I put a few projects on hold to try this with my new yarn... this is my progress.... but now I have to stop and make a few items that I have promised.  I am beyond excited about this scarf!!...Thank you so much for looking!  Hugs, Jeannie

Lacy Scarf

Handmade by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I love my Knifty Knitters / Knitting Looms

This is a scarf pattern I made before, it is out of the book I taught myself to LOOM KNIT.  Robby bought this book for me at Wal Mart... it has a DVD but that is very dissapointing!!... I have made this scarf before in a thicker thread... Yesterday I was at Hobby Lobby and decided that I was going to have to venture out into new yarns...I ran across this Patons Lace yarn...very fine yarn... it is a #2 on the liggle yarn shaped symbol...I used two threads...I did think that the thread would change faster than it did....this was knitted on a flat pannel on my largest round loom...the pattern is the Lovely Lacy Scarf on page 18 of the book... I love how it turned out!!  Thank you so much for looking!!... This one is going in my Etsy Shop!  Hugs, Jeannie

Bright Toboggan and Scarf to Match

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
A dear, dear friend of mine lost her house 9 days ago!!.... Just broke my heart...when I ask what I could do for her she ask for a scarf and hat for when she rides her horses... she wanted the bright.... this is what I made for her... so excited about how I made the stitches match... I did 2 rows of knit and 2 rows of purl on the scarf for 12 pegs until it was 5 1/2 feet long... I did it on my largest round loom... The toboggan was done on my  Knifty Knitter round loom...I did 2 purl 2 knits and repeated until the end of the round for 10 rows with one strand of yarn..then I added a second strand of yarn and changed my pattern to 2 knits 2 purls, so that when you folded the brim up that the stitches would match...since the brim folds up on the hat instead of upon itself I had to do more rows on the hat... I did a total of 37 rows past the brim...the last 5 rows I did with one stitch so that when I gathered the hat it it would be less bulky.
Thanks so much for looking!

Hugs
Jeannie

I have been learning on my Knifty Knitter...here are a couple of projects I learned from a book!!.. They taught me so much ...I hope to be able to apply what I learned in these projects into some designs of my own!!... I am having too much fun!!

I was excited about this scarf because I learned how to do a yarn Over (yo) and a Knit Together (ktog)!
Now when I find that in some instructions I can do it!!!

And this may look boaring but I learned how to make perfect ends when I made this pot holder!... again by following written instructions... which is hard for me...I am a visual learner... so this was so exciting to me...and will help me to finish off my two sided scarves, knitted on a long loom, much nicer!

Stitches I now know... E Wrap (EW), Knit (k), Purl (P), Yarn Over (yo), and Knit Together (ktog)... now off to learn a couple more.

Fall Scarf and Boggin with Needle Felted Leaf and Acrons

Designed by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
I am so excited about this scarf and hat!!...it is my favorite yet...I am learning... I learned how to do the knit stitch on my !!looms for my patches... and I am so excited... now if I just get better at felting them before I put the design on them.... I used my Gyspy and Cricut for templates for my Needle Felting and am so excited about how it turned out!!... thank you so much for looking... now to find something to do with these hats and scarfs that I am making!

Gypsy and Cricut
Gypsy Wandering
Leaf cut @ w 2.20 x h 2 27.. with the hide contour feature used to hide the lines in the leaf....I cut this leaf  inside a square from George... (to create the template) ...the square is cut @ w 3.15 x h 3.15... on the Cricut I would cut the leaf @ 2 1/4 inches and the square @ 3 1/4 inches.
Winter Woodland
Acorn cut @ w 0.94 x h 4.52  (this is not too large I promise)... I cut this inside a square from George that was cut @ w 1.59 x h 1.40...on the Cricut I would cut the acorn @ 4 1/2 inchs and the square @ 1 1/2 inches.

I am really enjoying the Needle felting it is just so much fun... I used a light brown on the bottom of the acorn..and a dark brown for the top and the steam...... and a burn orange color for the leaf...and the same dark brown for the veins and steam on the leaf.. these are just super easy to do.

Real Estate Scarf

Designed by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I knitted this scarf on my Knifty Knitter... then I knitted the patches and felted them in the washing machine... then I needle felted the house and "for sale" on the patches... I used my Gypsy and Cricut to cut out the "for Sale" and use the negative space as a template for the letters on my needle felting!!... Oh the possibilities!... I can't wait.... Tomorrow I hope to make a card!!... Thank you for looking!... Hugs, Jeannie

Cricut Meets Knifty Knitter

I am so excited about this Scarf and Cap set.... I stumbled upon Mia's Etsy store... to get to her blog just click here... she does this beautiful thing called flocking!!!.... I wanted to try it to add to my scarves... so I knitted myself a little square and got out my Cricut and cut me out a pattern...the J is from Lyrical Letters... and it turned out so well I knitted me another square on my Knifty Knitter and cut out a flower from George for my pattern for my needle felting... and made me another patch... my husband then took me to Hobby Lobby to get yarn for me a scarf for my patches he loved them so much... and I then knitted me a Cap... and did yet another patch to match my scarf... I am so excited about what I am learning!!... remember this is my first attempt!!...... my next try is going to be actually felting my patch before I needle felt it... and see where I go from there... I was so excited to use my Cricut and Gypsy with my design on this... and on the possibilities!!!.. thank you so much for looking...and thank you Mia for your wonderful talent that you share!!!... Be sure and check out Mia's work... it is amazing!!!
