Hand Spun Yarn

Hand Spun Yarn by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I have been working on this for a couple of weeks... I had some bad days so I didn't work on it much for a while there... but today I got to finish spinning it and then I got to two-ply it!!... so excited out how it turned out.. I started with 8oz of  dyed Mariano wool... and ended up with 364 yards of 2plied sport/fingering weight yarn... I hope to use this on my first Tri Loom project next week.. I need 200 yards of another color to go with it... so excited!!... and Robby is going to build me a tri-loom this next week!... what other color do you think I should add to it??  Thank you for looking~  Hugs, Jeannie

Knifty Knitter Scarf

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I was excited at how this scarf turned out...I had wanted to do something like this with this yarn and didn't think I had enough...and wasn't quite sure how to get the look that I wanted... and I had thought I would not have enough yarn to get the length of a scarf...well after 2 woven scarves I still ended up with enough yarn to make a scarf.. too exciting.  I wanted a really loose stitch to show off my hand spun yarn... I used the purple round Knifty Knitter... knitted on a flat panel... I used every other peg....I did a row of k and row of p and a row of k...after my ewrap cast on... then I added the next color (orange ) and did a row of it in e-wrap... left that working strand at the end of the row... the I did a row of p a row of k and a row of p... picked up the orange working yarn... and did a row of ewrap until I reached my desired length.  I really like the loose stitch for hand spun yarn.  Thank you for looking!  Hugs~ Jeannie

Yarns!

Hand Spun Yarn by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside
Wanted to share my 2 plied yarn and some more yarn that I started spinning today.  Today was a wonderful spinning day... it all just came together... I was drafting and spinning all at the same time.... my wheel was going in the right direction ..... I was stopping the wheel anytime I needed to... I had a few adjustments to make but I was able to make them... the blue yarn in the picture is bulky yarn...this new yarn is much finer...I think when it's 2 plied it is going to be more of a worsted weight... Spinning is so so much fun!..I am loving it!

Purple Popsicle Party

Hand Spun, Hand Dyed, Handmade Design
by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
This Yarn reminds me of a Grape Popsicle... This is my first project that I did so much!...I dyed the roving... I spun the yarn...added ribbon and tulleing (sp?) as I spun to part of the yarn...then I had to go back and add more ribbon to the hat after I knitted it on my loom.... all the bows piled up in just a couple of places... but hey I am learning!!  I am really excited I feel like I made this hat from scratch...how fun is that!

Popsicle Party... Handspun, Hand Dyed Yarn by Me

Hand Spun, Hand Dyed Yarn
by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
This is my first novelty yarn...I added tulle, ribbon, beads and acrylic yarn pieces as I spun it.... I spun enough to add a pretty stripe to a baby hat ...I have some "plain" yarn yarn that I dyed, drying, to go with it... I will have to spin some more to have enough to make a baby hat... I am excited! I named it Popsicle Party because the color looks like a purple popsicle.  Thank you for looking!! ~Hugs, Jeannie

Hand Spun Yarn made on my Spinning Wheel
  Jeannie Phillips
Southside, AL
I made this yarn on Monday... 4 days into my yarn spinning experience. I love my spinning wheel... I think that I may love spinning more than loom knitting and you know how much that I love that!... this is my best spin yet.... I am expecting some wool roving to arrive today then I can make enough yarn to make a hat or scarf!!.. I can't wait... I will have to put some of it off... I have a couple of orders to fill if the yarn I need arrived at Hobby Lobby.  Then I can spin to my hearts content.  Thank you so much for looking!!

Lookie.. I have a Spinning Wheel!!!

Handmade Spinning Wheel by Robby Phillips
Hand Spun Yarn by Jeannie Phillips
Lookie!! Lookie!!! What my sweet husband made me... the shopping too a while the loom actually only took him about an hour and a half to make!!... It needs a couple of adjustments... then it will be good to go!... I made my first Hand Spun Yarn...this was a half an ounce of wool I had on hand from needle felting... 1/2 an ounce of roving made 11 yards  of yarn... but that is probably way off...I had some parts that are spun way way too tight..and some way loose... maybe about a total yard of good yarn and not all in one spot...but I am learning..and I will learn... then as one lady said on YouTube I can all myself a yarn artist!!... Too fun!!  Thank you for looking... brag on Robby so I can pass it on and make him feel wonderful!!
