Snow Much Fun

Designed by Jeannie Phillips - Southside, AL
Click on any picture to enlarge.
Everyone was making penguin cards on the Cricut Message Boards for this weeks BBTB Challenge and I so love penguins so I had to jump in and make one myself!!... I had this idea...thought the paper choice would look like a long winters night... not sure if I like how it turned out...then when I look again I like it... maybe tomorrow I will make up my mind... let me know what you think... I used my Gypsy to weld circles and rectangles to make the background border for the SNOW... if you are still sitting on the fence about getting a Gypsy I can tell you I just love my Gypsy... love it!! Hugs, Jeannie

I was unable to make Cricut cut sizes because of stretching some items by height only and the use of the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge.
CRICUT & GYPSY
Gypsy Wanderings
*SNOW* cut @ w 5.10 x h 1.55
George
I used the following shapes to create the Shadow Border for the snowflakes and the word snow I welded the shape together.
First circle cut @ w 1.54 x h 1/44.
Oval cut @ w 1.1o x h 1.79.
Rounded rectangle cut @ w 1.14 x h 1.78.
Rounded Square cut @ w 0.89 x h 0.83.
Last circle cut @ w 1.82 x h 1.70.
I grouped all of these shape together to duplicate them for the second shadow. I popped the first shadow from the second shadow for depth.
Joys of the Season
Shadow penguin cuts cut @ w 1.90 x h 2.24.. I cut 2 in black and one in white.
Layer penguin cut cut @ 1.96 x h 2.31.
Home Decor
Flourishes cut @ w 5.12 x h 1.74.
Gypsy Font
"f" in fun cut @ w 0.68 x h 2.07... I used a circle and rectangle to alter my f...which I could have just done with scissors (laughing at myself).
"un" in fun cut at h 1.37 the width will change with the height.
Welded the letters together in fun.
"much" welded and grouped cut @ w 3.01 x h 1.31.
This is the screen shot of my Gypsy just before I cut... I grouped the cuts by color.. be sure and save your files before you do anything.

CIRCUT & GYPSY
Because some of my items were stretch one way and not the other I was unable to include just the Cricut instructions. I'm sorry.
George
Turkey Feathers are long balloons cut @ w .76 x h 2.49.
Body was an oval cut @ w 1.74 x h 2.66.
Do Not weld these items.
I cut a rectangle @ w 2.18 x h 0.11 to trim the bottom part of the oval off to create the body.
Heart for face cut @ 1.13 x h 0.89 turned upside down.
I place a circle cut @ w 1.44 x h 1.58 over the heart to trim off the pointed end.
Do not weld these two items.
Collar
Rounded squares cut @ w o.51 x h 0.42.
Turned to make points of the collar.. weld these together.
Oval to trim away part of the collar cut @ w 0.43 x h 0.73.
Dot Not weld the oval.
Gobbler
Circle is w o.24 x h 0.22
Long oval is w 0.17 x h 0.37
Small oval is w 0.14 x h 0.19
Weld all of these together.
I had to zoom in all the way to create the Gobbler which I was so proud of!
Circles for buttons are w 0.26 x h 0.25.
This is what my mat looked like when I cut out George the Turkey.
Save you file first.
I did have to delete all items but the welded items and run the mat through again to get my welded pieces to cut.

Click on any picture to enlarge.
I was inspired by a picture to make this card... I am just loving this paper pad it is so romantic!!.. and I am such a fool for romance!! .. I hope that you like it!... I am going to try and give CRICUT INSTRUCTIONS along with my Gypsy instructions... because I have had several request for both... please if you use my Cricut Instructions let me know if they are working for you... because they are going to be a bit of guess work.... Hugs Jeannie
CRICUT & GYPSY
Walk in My Garden
Flower cut @ h 2.28 x w 1.74.. on the Gypsy .. Cricut size 1 3/4 inches.
I cut the flower twice.
I pop-dotted the flower together at the base of the flower and glued the end of the pedals directly together with a touch of glue... I shaded with chalk.
Center of flowers cut @ w 1.38 x h 1.74 on the Gypsy...on the Cricut cut @ 1 3/4 inches to match the flower.
I cut these twice in yellow only used the solid piece...I added color with chalk and pop-dotted between the yellow pieces.
Leaves cut @ w 1.58 x h 1.00 with the gypsy..on the Cricut I would cut them at inch.
I pulled the end of the leaves together and glued the ends to make the pop up in the center.
Jasmine
Corners cut @ w 1.60 x h 5.11 on the Gypsy... on the Cricut I would cut them @ 2 1/2 on real dial size... you get two corners per one cut.. cut 4 times so you also have corners for the inside of the card.
The Stem of the flower was cut with my wavy paper trimmer.
This is a picture of my gypsy mat when I cut out my card ... the center square won't cut..it is a rectangle the size of my card opened as a template...I use this to know if my cuts will fit on my card right.... be sure and save your files!...as you can see I grouped all the pieces together that need to be cut in the same colors

A Grandmother's Shoes

Designed by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
Click on any picture to enlarge.I am so excited about The Gypsy Spot!!....and being a Design Team member!!... I will miss The Cuttlebug Spot... but this new blog of Nilda has me so excited... I am so loving my Gypsy!!... just loving it!! ... so this new blog is going to be wonderful wonderful fun... this week were were to use a cut from Gypsy Wanderings and when I saw the shoes I though of my Grandmother who passed away October 17... I am missing her already... she was 96 .... this card is in memory of her, Violet Sherrill Pinson... Be sure and check out The Gypsy Spot and see what the other Design Team members have come up with... and please join us and create something wonderful of your own.

CRICUT & GYPSY
Gypsy Wandering
Shoes cut @ w 2.53 x h 1.64.
Shoe Shadows cut @ w 2.79 x h 1.74.
Gypsy Font
(I love this font)
"A" cut @ w 1.o x h 0.89.
"Grandmother's" cut @ w 3.47 x h 3.76.
These numbers are after the letters were turned and moved together..then welded together.
To get the arch I built the letters around the oval after I moved it over the card base template where I wanted it to be... that way it was just the right size when I cut it... I moved it before I cut it so I could place all my dark brown objects together for laying out my papers.
"Shoes" cut @ w 1.64 x h 0.72 after the letter were moved together and welded.
George
Oval cut @ w 5.65 x h 6.59.
After the oval was cut I laid it on my card background..then marked where I wanted to trim it...the leftover pieces of the oval I used on the inside.

This is what my mat looked like when I cut the images... I put a brown piece of paper 4 1/2 x 11 down the left side...and a 4 x 4 1/2 piece of paper in the top right corner for the shoes.. I also put a 7 1/2 x 6 inch piece of patterned paper over the oval...so all the items cut out in one cut...

Often at the present the welded items won't cut with the non welded items... leave all your paper on the mat...make sure you have saved your file... delete all the non welded items from your mat then cut again... your welded pieced will cut then...when prompted to save changes choose don't save... then you still have all your cuts when you return to this file.

Friends are like....

Designed by Jeannie Phillips Southside, AL
Click on any picture to enlarge.
I really needed to create today.... it was a must... but I couldn't really concentrate... still have all the funeral things to do... but this doll reminded me of my MawMaw... so I decided even though this was a pretty simple card that I would do it in honor of her... Thank you for all the prayers...and for looking at my card. Hugs, Jeannie

Joys of the Season
Doll cut @ w 2.42 x 2.50.
I cut her 6 times so I could paper piece her..and she doesn't come in layers... there are two cuts in yellow for the layers of hair... 2 cuts in red for the dress and bow.... one in off white for the skin...and once in brown for the belt and the shoes... some of her peices are pop-dotted and some are just layered one on top of the other.
Storybook
Frames cut @ w 3.0 x h 2.0 and 3.25 x h 2.26.
I just duplicated the smaller one and tapped the enlarge button 3 times.
All other cuts are made with my paper trimmer.
Lots of brown in and chalk.Below is how my Gypsy screen looked just before I printed...I did delete my notes at the bottom left.... the square in the middles is saved and opened as a template so I can lay my images out in it for sizing... it is the size of an A2 card and does not print when opened as a template.

I have had lots of positive feedback from these shots...but a negative one or two comments also... so if they are helpful to you please let me know and I will keep posting them.

Please say prayers for my family.

My 96 year old grandmother died this weekend.... it has been really sad.... I have an out of state aunt ... and cousins... so the funeral isn't until later in the week... I think that is making all this much harder... life is in limbo ... waiting to even feel like all of this is even real...

When I was a little girl she would let me help her make home made biscuits...that is when I learned to love biscuit dough.... and she would tell me the most wonderful stories... and she told me Bible stories about all the pictures in her huge Bible .... and she always sang me those sad old story songs.... I loved those songs...I think they are why that today I still love a sad song.

Please keep us in your prayers .... my mother and aunt are really sick and I am worried about both of them getting through the next few days.

Hugs

Jeannie

Dress cut @ w 3.50 x h 4.96.

If I make this again I would cut two more hair pieces to add to the layers like I did the face circles.

Halloween Candy Cone

Designed by Jeannie Phillips, Southside, AL
Click on any picture to enlarge. This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we were to make a candy container of some kind...I had to think on this one for a while...because as many of you know... cards are my thing!!...so this is outside my box for sure!!... but when I finished this I was just too excited... I used my Gypsy... and made the tag....I welded the cat and pumpkin to the tags to make a strong base and an outline when I added my other cuts... I am really proud of this one...really proud.... I am learning how to do new things every day with my Gypsy.... this is an amazing amazing tool!.... Hope you like my treat cone... love your comments!!!.... they make my day!! Be sure and check out what the other Design Team members at The Cuttle Bug Spot made this week!!.... Hugs, Jeannie

Cat cut @ w 1.91 x h 3.28 this is the single cat and the cat welded to the white tag.
Cat welded to the black tag is w 2.0 x h 3.43.
The way I did the black tag was... I made the white tag..grouped all the items... click on the group and tapped on the enlarge button 3 times... if you do that you will not have to lay out the black tag...and all your sizes will be right. This is a picture of my Gypsy screen saved file...to cut all I did was delete my notes of the carts I used and the color I wanted one of the pumpkins.... I have found that my welded items are not cutting when my un-welded items cut...I delete the un-welded items then run my mat back through the Cricut and the welded items then cut fine...when the Gypsy prompts me to save changes I choose NO...then I still have my notes and all my cuts.

Hat cut @ w 1.27 x 2.08.. cut twice so that I could cut the hat band out of the orange/red paper.
Winter Woodland
Scarf (grouping) is a snowman layer feature cut @ w 2.67 x 7.78...used the scarf on the snowman and the heart on the inside.
Home Decor
Branches cut @ w 2.27 x h 1.41.
These are really thin but cut out really really well.

This is the cut file just before I printed it...I did delete the notes before I printed...I am still at the point having to delete everything that isn't grouped..then going back to cut the grouped items.

This is the cut file saved so I will recognize how it should look when finished.
If you open your rectangle card base as a template it does not cut...but the picture stays on the mat so you can lay your card out and get everything the right size.

Mr Snowman

I saw this image painted on a piece of metal while we were in Gatlinburg....and I loved it.... so when we got back to the room I created it the best that I could on my Gypsy... I was so excited...then yesterday Jeannene gave me some paper from an old Christmas paper pack...and I knew what I was using the snowflake paper for...the background of this card... there are some differences from the painting...the Merry Christmas was all in an arch across the snowman instead of just the Christmas...but it worked out well for my card... then the other day someone posted a snowman card where she had used a snowflake in the belly of the snowman....I borrowed that idea for her...but can’t remember who...if you will let me know it was you I would love to give you credit!!...I hope that you can see it in the picture..I used axles to make Sickles highlights to the letters...this is a simple card...but effective I think...I hope you like it...thank you so much for looking!... This is a picture of how my file looked when I cut it.This is a picture of my saved screen with my notes... once I got it like I wanted it I saved it under Save As......I have to go back and add my cartridge notes..the inside if the square is how I wanted the card to look with all its pieces..the extra pieces are for the pieces that other items were pop-dotted from...when I got ready to cut I spread all the cuts on the mat after I had saved the file... then cut... when prompted to save changes put NO and you will save this screen I did delete the card base square...but you can make one and open it as a template and it won't cut...you will just have it as a guide.

Happy Halloween

This picture is from my cell phone...and all the cut file information is on Jeannen's Gypsy ... so I can't share because I don't have them.... but this card came about while I was spending the day with Jeannene and Joy!!!.... we had a blast... we went paper shopping!!.... we had a most beautiful lunch....talked and talked... and then about 3 o'clock I started this card.... Jeannene wanted me to make a card from start to finish... so this was designed on the Gypsy.... then we laid out all the paper on the mat... and I inked up all the pieces ... and put the card together... added the spider web with a white gel pen.... and and some chalk to all the cheeks.... had a couple of oops....fixed those...and this is what we ended up with.... both the pumpkins are from PDDU... so is the spider and the cat... and the leaves are from Gypsy Wanderings on shadow... and I used lots and lots of pop-dots... one of the pumpkins is actually the pumpkin suit from PDDU...the lid of the pumpkin on the ground on the right is the hat for the costume... I would have never ever thought to use that as a pumpkin and it worked wonderfully....

Nested Squirrel

Designed by Jeannie Phillips - Southside, AL
Click on any picture to enlarge.
I found this little tiny note on my cardmaking table...it said I want one with an arrow...well by then the arrow wasn't pointing to anything... so I called my daughter, Madison...and she had seen this squirrel on my Winter Woodland cartridge.... I was looking at my Gypsy Owl card...and thinking of a book I saw the other day...and decided that a lot of my design for my Gypsy Owl card would work for this card... so I took some things away...and added some things...and in no time at all I had this card designed!!.... I am loving my Gypsy... just loving it!! Hope that you like my card...I cherish your comments!! I really really do! ... Hugs, Jeannie

Winter Woodland
Squirrel cut @ w 1.43 x h 1.50.
Squirrel layer cut @ 1.23 x 1.50.
You don't have to put in both numbers if you select both images at the same time and keep them grouped if you change the size... you can un-group them when you are ready to print to place them in the right place on your mat.
Gypsy Wanderings
Branches cut @ w 3.38 x h 3.42 and w 3.98 x h 3.11 and w 2.36 x h 1.84.
The smallest and one of the largest branches are welded together.
Leaves cut @ w 1.03 x h 1.0 there are 18 leaves all together.
I spread out the rows so that I could put 3 different 2 x 8 strips of paper down to get 3 different colored leaves.
Pooh and Friends
Moon cut @ w 1.62 x h 1.79.
I used the moon for the base for my Martha Stewart Branch Punch so that I would keep them in the right area and the spaces wouldn't show through...the moon shape is cut in brown.
I didn't have a layout of this card...just the cut out file...be sure to delete your notes before you print and when you are prompted to save changes say NO.

Oh Baby

I have been wanting to play!!!...play!!!... with my Gypsy.... I am obsessed!!!... the scalloped edge wouldn't weld once flipped so I welded it to my George rectangle then rotated it and it worked! ... So I am learning....I am really proud of this one... because of the welding...and the wholes in the scalloped edge.... I hope that you like it too!!!... Hugs, Jeannie

"Oh Baby" cut @ w 5.0 x 2.41.
"Oh Baby" Shadow cut @ h 4.91 x h 2.41.
You do not have to figure out the difference in sizes that works... just pick both the cuts together and they will be the right size to fit together and grouped... so once you get it the size you want it you can now ungroup them and fit them on the page where you want them to be.
Baby Buggy cut @ w 1.44 x h 1.63.
Baby Buggy Shadow cut @ 2 1.53 x 1.63.
Same applies as above to get the shadow.
Swirl cut @ w 5.0 x h 1.21.
George
Rectangle cut @ w 2.75 x h 5.0.
I then rotated it on the page how I wanted it.
Circles inside the scalloped cut cut @ w 0.40 x h 0.37.
Plantin Schoolbook
Scallop cut @ w 5.02 x h 0.89
I welded the scallop to the rectangle...but did not weld the circles to the scallop.
The circles are easy to put in the scallop when you zoom in! This is a picture of how the mat looked when I cut out my pieces..the items in red are welded together.
This is a picture of my saved screen with my notes... once I got it like I wanted it I saved it under Save As......the words in the top right hand side are the carts I used...the bottom is how I wanted the card to look with all its pieces..the extra pieces are for the inside or pieces that other items were pop-dotted from... ex. the baby buggy shadow... I wanted to pop the baby buggy twice..so I popped the shadow from the background and then the green buggy attached to the pink shadow cuts and popped it from the the pink shadow buggy that was already popped from the background page...when I got ready to cut I spread all the cuts on the mat after I had saved the file... then cut... when prompted to save changes put NO and you will save this screen.

Hint: If you save you cut file under the same name as you give your card on your blog it will be much easier to find.... I have gone back and changed the name once I have posted to keep my cards and my files with the same name.
