My Try at Duplicate Stitch

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips

It needs work....I think I needed to use two threads when doing the duplicate stitch....but it's done now... My nephew, Trey's hat was too small... so I had to make him another one...I asked what he wanted...he said a black and white hat with a Red A... so this is the best I could do... for my first try... I hope that he is happy .. he is 8...and this is what he wanted... so I think that he will be happy!... it was a learning experience for sure.
Thanks for looking ... Hugs, Jeannie

Robby's First Hat!!

Handmade by
Robby Phillips ~ Southside AL
Don't you think he did a beautiful job!!.... My sweet husband Robby is out of work due to a foot injury he got while delivering his UPS packages.... looks like 12 weeks recovery.... hopefully not surgery..... anyway he is antsy, because unlike me he is a "busy" person and doesn't sit still to good (and he needs to!!)... day before yesterday I said something like I need to get this finished because I need to make Pastor Whimpy's hat... he said "Can I help?"... I gave him a loom and set him to work... didn't he do a beautiful, beautiful job!
Thank you for looking!  Hugs, Jeannie

Baby Toboggan - DaLoom Baby Loom

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL

I made this hat on my DaLoom's Baby Loom... it is fine gauge loom... I have to tell you this took 63 rows...and there are 74 pegs on this this hat has 4662 stitches... handmade stitches!!... but it has been so much fun!!!  It took me a while to make but I love the small stitches...and the wind is not getting trough this hat!!... I can tell you I can't imagine making a scarf on a fine gauge loom...that could take forever!! For Christmas I am getting the set of 7 FG round looms... I can't wait!  Thank you Provo Craft for introducing me to Loom Knitting!!  I love it!

Just a Note

My sweet husband Robby, who works for UPS... twisted his foot delivering boxes on Tuesday... boxes went flying... his board went flying... two ladies came flying out the door to check on him...and a ligament in his foot pulled a chunk of bone from his bone... we were at the ER Wednesday morning and at the doctor yesterday... He has been taking care of me (when he was home to) because of my surgery... doing great but not 100% yet.... now we have had to switch roles....and boy have I found out how I am still not over surgery... still tired from it... and second but most important just how much Robby does for me!!

I still have lots to accomplish for Christmas... and am accepting the fact that we are going to do Christmas this year in a bit of a mess...but being together is the most important part!

I got in some new looms.. working on the one last hat I need to finish...but these fine gauge looms... well they take a lot longer... more pegs, smaller stitches... I can't wait to see my first hat on this loom!!

I hope that everybody has a very Merry Christmas!

Toboggan with a "t"

Designed by
Jeannie Phillips~ Southside AL
I sure picked the wrong yarn for this hat...the black running through the camo thread ended up solid black in places where I needed it to be a lighter color... then I had to undo like 12 rows of this hat...and I don't have time!! I still need to make one more least its a baby hat.... I can do this one over for Trey after Christmas if he doens't like it...He is in the second grade...I thought he might like the monogram hat!!.... I just wish that I was happier with it!  Hugs, Jeannie

Ear Flap Hat

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips
I read how to do ear flaps in Isela Phelps book.... and where you put the flaps on the peg to add them to the hat... I marked those pegs on the next to smallest loom... laid it in the middle of my purple loom and laid thread across the middle of both looms to make a cross and marked the center point on both looms... I used this as a guide to decide how to big to make my ear flaps...then I just winged it from there...I knitted these from the end of the strings up!!...I was so so excited when it turned out and the flaps were in the exact right place!  This is for my niece Katy for Christmas... she will be in high school next year and their school colors are Blue and White... I so hope that she loves it!!  Thank you for looking!  Hugs, Jeannie

Toboggan w/Stick Man

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips

The toboggan that I made yesterday was just shy of 8 came just above my husbands earlobes... this one is 9 inches tall ... it is for my son and he said his ears are getting this one is made to completely cover his ears and come down to his brows and his neck.... This is a sweater motif and I had to modify it to make the stitches per inch match both vertically and horizontally... it takes a minute to see the stick man... so mostly it looks like a geometrical design... then  you see the stick man... I think (hope) that he loves this when he opens it at Christmas... Thank you so much for looking!!!   Hugs, Jeannie

Toboggin with Knitting Motif

Handmade by Jeannie Phillips
I am beyond excited about this hat!!!...I used Chunky yarn on the purple knifty knitter... the chunky yarn is wonderful!!... this toboggan to me really looked special!!... the brim is just one layer not brought up through the middle... I did in in KKP,KKP.... and the top of the hat is all K stitches... I bought a used book 1000 Great Knitting Motifs... it is more for sweaters... I didn't realize that when I bought this... I can't imagine that I could ever make a sweater... but I was beyond excited that I put this design into this hat... Thank you so much for looking!!  Hugs Jeannie

Lacy Scarf

Handmade by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I love my Knifty Knitters / Knitting Looms

This is a scarf pattern I made before, it is out of the book I taught myself to LOOM KNIT.  Robby bought this book for me at Wal Mart... it has a DVD but that is very dissapointing!!... I have made this scarf before in a thicker thread... Yesterday I was at Hobby Lobby and decided that I was going to have to venture out into new yarns...I ran across this Patons Lace yarn...very fine yarn... it is a #2 on the liggle yarn shaped symbol...I used two threads...I did think that the thread would change faster than it did....this was knitted on a flat pannel on my largest round loom...the pattern is the Lovely Lacy Scarf on page 18 of the book... I love how it turned out!!  Thank you so much for looking!!... This one is going in my Etsy Shop!  Hugs, Jeannie

Toboggan... Earth Tones

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL

I love loom knitting... I love my Knifty Knitters!!!!!... I have made John-Robert another toboggan... he is loosing all his hair this weekend... a shaved head... I am so worried his head is going to be cold!!.... He has lots of hair it is going to be really different for him!....I hope to get him three boggans made!! But I have so much to do... and I am sick too!

This hat is really simple... I did it on the purple round loom...I knitted for the first rows with one thread so that the rim of the hat would roll up...then I purled the rest of the hat, in two colors...I have started decreasing back to one strand of yarn for the last about 5 rows so that when I draw the hat up it is much less bulky... on this hat I did a yarn over on every other peg for the last row... I knitted the bottom yarn over the top yarn... so that when I gathered the top it would be even less bulky... I love the little design it made in the middle.

Thanks for looking... Hugs, Jeannie

Infant/Toddler Santa Hat (Photo Prop)

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips
Still working on my Etsy shop... I am going to treat this like a job and get my shop filled up... I am getting faster!!..that is a good thing...I am much faster with the knit stitch... but not the e-wrap or the purl stitch! Did I say...I love my Knifty Knitters!!
Thank you for looking!  Hug's Jeannie

Infant/Toddler Jester Hat

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips
I am working to fill up my Etsy shop... I am excited!!... I love making the baby hats they are just too sweet!!.. this one is knitted tight and with a cotton/acrylic yarn of like 3 .5 oz... so it took more rows around the loom... but I have learned to get out my ruler and measure how many stitches are making an inch and then multiply to get the length I want!!...I didn't use a pattern on this... just worked it out on my own! I love learning things from peoples patterns... but then I like to apply it to something that is mine.....I am learning so so much!... Thank you for looking! .. Oh did I say "I love my Knifty Knitters!"   Hugs, Jeannie

My Weekend Sock (yes just one)

Handmade by Jeannie Phillips
Instructions from Loom Knitting Primer by Isela Phelps
Heals were my biggest fear!!... A sock is something that I didn't think that I could do on my Knifty Knitters... something I didn't think I could do at all!!... so I had to try one of these.... I do better when I can figure out something on my own...but on this I read the instructions!!.. amazing!!!...I am such a visual learner... but I had enough knowledge to make these instructions understandable for me!!.... I made the heal and the toe... but it was so hard to measure the length and I made this about an inch too short for my foot... I did enough to know that I now want a sock loom!!... I am about to need a loom room!!  Hugs, Jeannie

Bright Toboggan and Scarf to Match

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
A dear, dear friend of mine lost her house 9 days ago!!.... Just broke my heart...when I ask what I could do for her she ask for a scarf and hat for when she rides her horses... she wanted the bright.... this is what I made for her... so excited about how I made the stitches match... I did 2 rows of knit and 2 rows of purl on the scarf for 12 pegs until it was 5 1/2 feet long... I did it on my largest round loom... The toboggan was done on my  Knifty Knitter round loom...I did 2 purl 2 knits and repeated until the end of the round for 10 rows with one strand of yarn..then I added a second strand of yarn and changed my pattern to 2 knits 2 purls, so that when you folded the brim up that the stitches would match...since the brim folds up on the hat instead of upon itself I had to do more rows on the hat... I did a total of 37 rows past the brim...the last 5 rows I did with one stitch so that when I gathered the hat it it would be less bulky.
Thanks so much for looking!

Brown Tam with Stripes

Handmade Design by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
This is for my son John-Robert... he plans on shaving his dreads this month... so he won't need it long... but I had to make him one that was successful for his long hair... his orange and blue one was not full I prayed to know how to make more stitches on my loom....and one day the answer was just there in my head... God is so good... then I made the first one with the extra stitches too short...this one should be just right... I hope that he loves it! ...I love my Knifty Knitters they are the best thing ever!!...... Thank you so much for looking!

Oh Baby Card and Hats

Designed by Jeannie Phillips
I was in invited to a baby shower for a girl at my chruch... I was thinking oh what to buy... silly me I have been making caps like crazy.... so I decided this would be a fun gift!... I made the Christmas one for a photo prop.... I thought that would be so much fun with a December baby!!... I hope that she love the caps and the card.

Right now with the new update I am not sure how to share my card files... you get two options ... one is not save to your computer... when I figure it out I wll be glad to start sharing again!.

New Arrival
Baby cut @ w q.95 x h 2.39 ... on the Cricut I would cut these @ 2 1/2 inches.
Pooh and Friends
Hat (toboggan) cut @ w1.37 x h 1.65.. on the Cricut I would cut these @ 1.75.
Oh Baby cut @ w 2.80 x h 1.37 ... on the Cricut I would cut this @ 1 1/4 inches.
Mini Monograms
Scalloped circles cut @ w 3.06 x h 3.39 & w 3.59 x h3.98... on the Cricut I would cut these @ 3 1/2 and 4 inches.
Circle cut @ w 2.63 x h 2.46 on the Cricut I think I would cut this @ 2 1/2 inches... that may be too big.. if it is I would leave the circle off... because the 2 1/4 inch circle is probably going to be too small.

Slouchy Tam made on my Kinifty Knitters

Designed by Jeannie Phillips using the Knifty Knitters
I had an order for this hat... I am so excited that I taught myself how to add stitches to a loom so that I could make these!!... this one was really fun... I used the new round purple loom and I am loving the size of it!!... I like the tighter stitches but it does make you have to add a few extra rows... so be sure and measure compared to the other hats that you have done.  Thank you so much for looking!  Hugs, Jeannie

Thanks for Helping ~ a 15 minute card!

Designed by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside AL
Click on any picture to enlarge.
I love it when you can do something fun in a flash... usually cards take me a couple of hours this one came together really quick... which is good I have lots to do today!!...  My dad ask for a card to send to my church, Life Church in RBC... they have been so good to him!.  Pastor David was there, over an hour away, at 6am to visit with him before surgery... and 3 ladies from my church took him food... and then the Lady's Sunday School class sent him cards! This has touched both of our hearts so much!!  I prayed for this card... right after that I walked down to my scrap table and there lay the tree trunk that I had not used on another card...I though all that needs is some circles behind it to make a great tree...then I hand cut the grass... the only cuts I made today were the bird and the turtle...they are both from Live Simply... I didn't save them so I don't know what size I cut them... sorry! ... Thank you so much for looking!  Hugs, Jeannie
