A Light in My World

Designed by Jeannie Phillips - Southside, AL
Click on any picture to enlarge.
This card came to me today when I was reading my daily Bible reading... the verse was Luke 11:34 "Your eye is a lamp that provides light for you body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad, your body is filled with darkness..."... I had the world and the lantern in my head but just couldn't figure out how to lay it out on my card... then I took a nap...and as many or you know a nap is when cards come together in my head... and when I say the background cuts in my head I woke up!!... and couldn't wait to get my card on paper... this is a very easy quick card!... I so hope that you like it!!.. I love your comments they mean the world to me!!... more than you could imagine... Hugs, Jeannie

I prayed for snow this morning!!...first I prayed in that skeptical way...then I prayed again with faith!!...and now we have snow!!!...and its beautiful!!!... this is a Thank You card to God for the beautiful snow.... OK OK I know some of you up North aren't too happy with the snow...but remember I live in Alabama!!!... this is the best snow we have had since '92.... Hugs Everybody, Jeannie
CRICUT & GYPSY
Hello Kitty
Snowmen and all the layers cut @ h 4.40 inches....on the Cricut I would cut these @ 4 1/2 inches.
I cut the snow waves on my wavy paper trimmer and embossed them with my Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder.
Half of all the cuts need to be flipped side to side...I used one layer to pop the glittered layer off of...I used one layer to cut the pieces that I didn't want glittered... and I cut those pieced from the snowman... placed them on top of my snowman after I ran it upside down through my Zyron ...then I placed the colored pieced on top of the other snowmen and cut those pieces from the snowman to lay in the snow.
I hope these instructions are clearer than mud!!

This card is for my card class....I am so so enjoying this class...it is just too much fun.... I have the sweetest group of ladies that are there and they just make my week.... they are learning lots... now that they all have Gypsies we put the card we make that week on their Gypsy so they can go home and repeat the card if they want.... I can't wait until one of them calls me and says "I cut out my card!!"... I will just be too excited... Since not everybody has the same carts I am making something from the Gypsy Wanderings and Gypsy Font cartridges for a few weeks while they are getting the hang of things so they CAN go home and use their Gypsy... this is the card I came up with for this week...when I saw the shoe cut out in the oval scallop this card just popped right into my head... I got to use a new technique I learned too from Christmas With The Cricut... on a cut out...like with the shoe...you just take clear packing tape... stick to the back over the cutout...turn it over and sprinkle glitter on the cutout...and it stick to the tape....so quick and easy...and so effective!!... Thank you so much for looking!!... A special thank you to my card class ladies!!... Hugs, Jeannie

I really needed to create today.... it was a must... but I couldn't really concentrate... still have all the funeral things to do... but this doll reminded me of my MawMaw... so I decided even though this was a pretty simple card that I would do it in honor of her... Thank you for all the prayers...and for looking at my card. Hugs, Jeannie

Doll cut @ w 2.42 x 2.50.
I cut her 6 times so I could paper piece her..and she doesn't come in layers... there are two cuts in yellow for the layers of hair... 2 cuts in red for the dress and bow.... one in off white for the skin...and once in brown for the belt and the shoes... some of her peices are pop-dotted and some are just layered one on top of the other.
Storybook
Frames cut @ w 3.0 x h 2.0 and 3.25 x h 2.26.
I just duplicated the smaller one and tapped the enlarge button 3 times.
All other cuts are made with my paper trimmer.
Lots of brown in and chalk.Below is how my Gypsy screen looked just before I printed...I did delete my notes at the bottom left.... the square in the middles is saved and opened as a template so I can lay my images out in it for sizing... it is the size of an A2 card and does not print when opened as a template.

I have had lots of positive feedback from these shots...but a negative one or two comments also... so if they are helpful to you please let me know and I will keep posting them.

I hope that you like it... it was such a fun card to do.
