Purple Popsicle Party

Hand Spun, Hand Dyed, Handmade Design
by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
This Yarn reminds me of a Grape Popsicle... This is my first project that I did so much!...I dyed the roving... I spun the yarn...added ribbon and tulleing (sp?) as I spun to part of the yarn...then I had to go back and add more ribbon to the hat after I knitted it on my loom.... all the bows piled up in just a couple of places... but hey I am learning!!  I am really excited I feel like I made this hat from scratch...how fun is that!

Popsicle Party... Handspun, Hand Dyed Yarn by Me

Hand Spun, Hand Dyed Yarn
by Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, Al
This is my first novelty yarn...I added tulle, ribbon, beads and acrylic yarn pieces as I spun it.... I spun enough to add a pretty stripe to a baby hat ...I have some "plain" yarn yarn that I dyed, drying, to go with it... I will have to spin some more to have enough to make a baby hat... I am excited! I named it Popsicle Party because the color looks like a purple popsicle.  Thank you for looking!! ~Hugs, Jeannie

Hand Spun Yarn made on my Spinning Wheel
  Jeannie Phillips
Southside, AL
I made this yarn on Monday... 4 days into my yarn spinning experience. I love my spinning wheel... I think that I may love spinning more than loom knitting and you know how much that I love that!... this is my best spin yet.... I am expecting some wool roving to arrive today then I can make enough yarn to make a hat or scarf!!.. I can't wait... I will have to put some of it off... I have a couple of orders to fill if the yarn I need arrived at Hobby Lobby.  Then I can spin to my hearts content.  Thank you so much for looking!!

Home Spun Yarn by Me

Home Spun Yarn and Handmade Cozy
By Jeannie Phillips
I am so excited...I have been playing with my spinning wheel with the little bit of roving I had on hand which was little 1/2oz balls... I think I have finally got it... the process... now to perfect this process.. the sad thing is I have noticed that when you buy unspun dyed roving it is as much as spun yarn!!  Go figure!!... but I am loving the process...and I can't wait to try  more and more... pictured are my first attempts at spinning... the last being my best most consistant yarn... Thank you for going on this adventure with me!!... Hugs, Jeannie

Coffee Cozy
Made with my first batch of home spun yarn.

These two pictures are of my last yarn...that I just spun ..it is drying.. you wet it in warm water...and weight it down...that makes it come out all straight... other wise it curls up in curly Q's.This is my best yarn yet!

Lookie.. I have a Spinning Wheel!!!

Handmade Spinning Wheel by Robby Phillips
Hand Spun Yarn by Jeannie Phillips
Lookie!! Lookie!!! What my sweet husband made me... the shopping too a while the loom actually only took him about an hour and a half to make!!... It needs a couple of adjustments... then it will be good to go!... I made my first Hand Spun Yarn...this was a half an ounce of wool I had on hand from needle felting... 1/2 an ounce of roving made 11 yards  of yarn... but that is probably way off...I had some parts that are spun way way too tight..and some way loose... maybe about a total yard of good yarn and not all in one spot...but I am learning..and I will learn... then as one lady said on YouTube I can all myself a yarn artist!!... Too fun!!  Thank you for looking... brag on Robby so I can pass it on and make him feel wonderful!!

Felted Heart Baby Hat

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I have been wanting to do this forever!!... Felting on hats is why I wanted the fine gauge looms so bad.... wheel I finally got the chance.... I didn't have much wool roving ...and I used thread I had leftover.. this is a newborn hat... I did the heart by needle felting wool roving into a heart and adding a tail... Hope that you like it... oh yes if you didn't know my sweet husband is upstairs building me a spinning wheel!!...I am so excited. Between my spinning wheel and my felted heart hat I am a happy woman!!

Baby Cocoon w/ matching Toboggan

Handmade Designs by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
I have been busy though you can't tell in pictures because I have two hats on looms waiting to get measurements for the height so I will have a perfect fit... Hope to finish those Monday!!  I am excited about this set.. the stitches on the hat match the stitches on the cocoon except that I used a finer gauge loom for the hat.  This set is for a baby shower gift for a young lady at our Church... I hope that she loves it... I think babies are so sweet in them...and they make wonderful picture props... They think the baby is a boy... but I wasn't sure so I went with the white.

Handmade Design by
Jeannie Phillips ~ Southside, AL
There is a baby shower coming up at Church on the 16th of the month... I made this hat and I want to make a cocoon to go with it with the same stitch but larger... I think that will be a fun present... what do you think??  I had an old needle knitting book... where I tried...I repeat tried to needle knit several years ago... I found this double moss stitch in the book and converted it to loom instructions... I made this on my fine guage infant loom...on strand of #4 yarn......I really like the soft look it gave this baby hat.  Thank you so much for looking!
