Bama Baby

Vicki and I are still having so much fun picking out the same cut and seeing what each of us come up with... they are always so different.... so this has been amazing fun... Kat on the Cricut Message Boards ask us to do a baby card.... we said ok lets do that!!!....lets do a baby card... Vicki picked out the giraffe or the elephant... I looked at both and an idea popped into my Alabama head as soon as I saw the elephant...so we went with him... hope that you like my take!... I cherish your comments!!..thanks for looking!

New Arrival
Elephant cut @ 3 inches 2x's on shadow blackout 1x with shift for just the head and on shadow blackout... I cut the tail off the very bottom layer... cut the second and forth leg off the middle layer... lots of ink and the Peachy Keene stamp for the face... each layer pop-dotted with 1/8 inch pop-dots.
Baby cut @ 2 inches... 3x's with shift for just the blanket...all in red... 1x on shadow blackout for the baby and the blanket in off white... one of the red blanket layers is directly attached to the baby and blanket layer... the back layer is just a red blanket attached to the background paper...then the baby w/ blanket pop-dotted from that...then the top blanket popped for that... using 1/8 inch pop dots again... Baby's face is a Peachy Keene stamp.

"A" cut @ 1/2 inch on regular cut and shadow cut.
Circles are cut at 1 1/2 inch, 1 3/4 inch and 2 inches... 2 cut with punches the third cut on my Cricut... the bottom, grey circle is adhered directly to the background paper, the next two layers are pop-dotted with 1/16 inch pop-dots.
All other words are computer generated.
"Sawyer" is the baby's name that the card is for.

Turtle Friends

Turtle Friends, so fitting for another one of mine and Vicki's challenges... Vicki picked this cut... and I picked Friends after looking at the cut... I though "Those realistic turtles oh Vicki you have got to be kidding me!". but that is what makes it a challenge isn't it... then I found my paper...and knew the front facing turtle was sitting on the back of the side facing turtle and I got excited and went to work... I hope that you like it... it was such a fun card to do.

Disclaimer: My thief of a cat took my directions!!!... she always takes my craft supplies... I have no idea why!...but this time while my card was drying she took my directions ... so this is from memory...

Side turtle cut at either 3 inches or 2 3/4 inches.
Front facing turtle cut @ either 2 inches or 1 3/2 inches.
I am thinking its the whole numbers but they are measuring the fraction numbers.

Grass cut @ 1 inch on real dial size... twice on layer feature for the front rows once on regular cut for the back row which I wish I had cut at 1 1/4 inch (the back row).

Celebrate the USA

This week over at The Cuttlebug Spot we were to make cards that celebrate our great country, America... this is what I came up with... I used the I was so proud of this one when I finished!!... which was nice because I was really worried that I could come up with a fitting card... be sure and check out The Cuttlebug Spot for the wonderful wonderful cards that the other Design Team members made to Celebrate America...I hope that you like it as well... You'll always be my baby!

My daughter, Madison's birthday is June 30th... she is getting married July 11th...and starting her first accounting job in August... I finally had to admit that she is all grown up!!.. she loves lady bugs and when I thought of this saying to go with the lady bug I had to make this card!!.. I hope that she loves it ...and knows how much that I love her!!... thank you so much for looking... I cherish your comments!

Scallops cut @ 4, 4 1/4 and 4 1.2 inches.
Green circle cut @ 2 inches on real dial size.
(Circle text cut with a Making Memories Circle Cutter after I printed the text.)
Walk in My Garden
Lady Bug cut @ 1 inch once on layer cut in the red dotted paper and 3 times on regular cut in black... the very back black layer is adhered to the green circle with the head trimmed off... the second black layer is popped for the back layer with all its parts... the front black layer has the head and legs trimmed off is is popped from the second layer...the red layer is directly attached to the top black layer.

To glitter the circle text and the Happy Birthday Madison I ran the paper through my Zyron upside down after the text was printed and added Sugar Glitter.

A July 4th Birthday

My almost SIL, Cory (July 11th) has a birthday on July 4th.... I tried to think of something other than the 4th for his birthday card...but this one kept creeping up in my brain.... so I figured it was meant to be... there is no Cricut on this card...I can't believe that I could even make a card without my Cricut!!!... but here it is... the image is an old postage stamp image...I cut it in 4ths and framed each piece.. I used lots of pop dots...and made the fire cracker with my own two hands...and the paper trimmer of course...I hope he likes it..and that you do too... 25 Years Safe Driving

My dear husband, Robby has been with UPS for 31 years... 25 as a driver...and today he got his 25 year safe driving diamond pin, a jacket and a plaque... I am so proud of him...and for him... later in the year we get to go to a special dinner and he will be in the UPS magazine for his 25 years of safe driving.... he needed a card...and lots of love for loving us enough to work this hard for this long because he loves his family... I'll Love You Forever

Vicki and I are having so much fun seems we can't make a card without our duo challenges!!... This time I picked the elephant from Pooh & Friends.... and the sentiment "I'll love you forever" .. we decided to use the Nanna's Nursery paper again...I am running out!!...lol... I am so excited to see Vicki's card!!... they are always a treat, always!!.. the elephant proved a little challenging... but I was tickled to death wen I finished him!..Thank you so much for looking and for your comments...they make my day!

I used a full cut for the bottom layer then cut away parts for the second layer and on the third layer I just used his front leg and arm.
I put pop-dots between each layer.

RA STAFF

My son John-Robert is off to camp...where he lives in basketball shorts.... this time as Co-Director at camp...he is so excited... he started at age 8 as a camper...became a counselor at the age of 15... and now this year he is a Camp Co-Director... we are so proud and excited for him... ideas are bouncing off his head all the time to make it great ... it has been so fun to hear him talk about all his ideas to grow camp ever bigger... camp is where he accepted Jesus ... it has been the most positive, rewarding, fun experience for him and he loves it... I think he lives for it... and he is good at it... it will be why he will be a great teacher!!.. anyway this is a card (it measures right about 9 1/4 inches) for him to have his first staff to sign to remember his first year as on of the camp Directors...

Cut twice on shadow blackout and shift.
Once on regular cut in blue and once in yellow, trimmed the yellow to make the trim of the shorts.

Pooh Flowers

Vicki and I had so much fun yesterday making our own challenge!!! the we just had to do another one... we chose the Pooh and Friends flowers on the "tiger" word page...and added Nanna's Nursery paper since we both had it... it was so so fun...I can't wait to see hers... this has really added a new dimension to making a card...different from a regular challenge... since we post at the same time...it gets really exciting!!... Flowers cut @ 5 inches once on regular cut, 2 times on shift for the layers.
The layers I cut once to add to the green where the flower cut out...the second I shaded with color pencils and pop-dotted from the first ones... I glued the bottom of the flower directly to the bottom flower and popped it in the middle.
The flowers and leafs of the first cut are popped from the paper but the stem is glued directly to the background paper.

Goodmorning Sunshine

Vicki and I were chatting this morning as we often do...when said she loved this rooster and wanted to make a card with it..and drew a blank...I said she needed a sun and the caption "goodmorning sunshine" we decided with just that in mind we would both make a card and see how different or alike they turned out... this is what I came up with ... can't wait to see hers!... here is a link to Vicki's card!
