Okie's Sketch Challenge

Ok... I was finally talked into doing one of Okie's Sketch Challenges by Melissa aka Buggincrazy from the Cricut Message Boards.... sketch challenges usually leave me all blank.... I can't think past the sketch..... so they usually make me loose all my creativity.... the Jeannie part of my card just disappears.... but since Melissa asked me to do it I got my mind thinking and I chose the sketch above... there are always 2 so this is the one I chose... and this is my take on it... really really interested in what you think!!!... I turned it counter clockwise and went from there... ~~Hugs, Jeannie

My daughter, Madison needed a thank you card.... I saw a floating element in a magazine recently... and then one by Raquel Panos on the Cricut Message Boards so I had to try one ... I did mine a little different than either of those but I had fun doing it... the pictures don't show it as good as you see it in person.... you can click on Raquel name to see her card... thank you Raquel...

Its Time to Smell the Roses

Designed by Jeannie Phillip
Southside, ALA girl at work, her mom wanted me to make two retirement cards for teachers at her school... I decided it was best to make them alike..... I hope that she is pleased .... I was looking at a scalloped edge in a card magazine this morning...and though you know hearts would make a good scalloped edge ... and then the points would make a good trim... oh I could combine them so that is how my edge came about.... what do you think of the saying I chose .... do you think its good for retirement??.... I hope so!!... thanks for looking! ...

Center of flower made by cutting a long 3/4 inch strip and cutting little slice into the paper on the short side all the way down the strip...then using my quilling tool and twirling the paper with the printed side in... then folding the cuts out....I used a much shorter piece on the inside so it would lay flatter.
