I was making my 4th crocheted hat...when it came to me just how to make a tam... I knew I was going to have to make me one...and I set to work... this is my first crocheted tam. Then as I was making this one I had all kinds of things come to my mind... So I made the next one down.... then when I woke up in the middle of the night after finishing the second one... the one with the fun bobbles...I knew just how I wanted to make a matching scarf...so after my nap today I set to work.

The greatest thing is last week during my prayers I told God... I said "God I so want to make amazing thing... I want to make things that go WOW!" God cares about the desires of our hearts... we just have to ask. God wants to give us so much... we just have to do the asking... I am learning to ask for the big, for the amazing... because nothing is impossible with God!!

This is an Infinity Scarf or Cowl that I did on my CinDWood round afghan loom... it is knitted in the round. I didn't know I would like it until I got it off the loom... now I am really excited at how it turned out! The exciting part is the loose cast off stitch! I think I invented it.. I have not seen it before and it is wonderful... it ends up the same "size" as the e-wrap cast on so you don't have to do anything extra once you take this off the loom!!!.. I have been working on a Shell Stitch Afghan for my new bedroom... I needed a break... I bought some chunky yarn...and a Q hook.... this is crocheted with two strands of chunky yarn held together as one... this was really simple and because of the larger yarn and hook it crocheted up in about 3 hours. I am so excited about this scarf...it is made with some really special yarn that I got as a gift for my birthday from Madison and Cory... my sweet daughter and son-in-law. I was waiting on just the right stitch/design to come alone...I really wanted to show off the yarn... I don't follow patterns but found a beautiful v-stitch pattern and went to work learning how to make the stitch...the rest is my best copy of the design.

I started this twisty scarf a while back...then had to wait on some more yarn to finish the project... if I followed patterns I would know how much yarn I needed....LOL... I have done this same design in a much lighter lace... which I like better..this would be pretty with a heavy wool coat. It reminds me of my MawMaw, purple was her favorite color.

This is a scarf that I am working on...I went to The Taming of the Ewe Saturday... Detta was working and she was teaching this broomstick lace class.... it is crochet...she talked me into the free class...and I am so glad that she did... this is beautiful...I can't wait to try different variations of this ...it would make a beautiful throw!! This is a slouchy tam that I made on my Purple 48 peg, Knifty Knitter loom... I used one strand of bulky yarn... and increased stitches to make the "slouch." So happy at the size of the slouch...this is my own "pattern" so to speak... It is not written out just something I got in my head...I hope to do a video on how to add what I call Invisible Peg stitches.

I am so behind on posting my stuff.... I just have been so busy lately.... Here are a few things I have made lately.

This is one of 10 sets I made for a special group of ladies I know.... I crocheted the washcloths, and a round face cloth... my daughter, Madison and I made the soap today ... our first. It was fun but, harder than we thought it would be. I could not have done it without her!! Her and her sweet Cory just moved back from Memphis... I am so enjoying having her home!

This is a Loopy Scarf... I am so excited about it!!... So excited...I figured out how to loom knit it in a flat panel on one of my Knifty Knitter round looms... it is so easy and knits up so fast!!

This is a scarf I finished this week... I saw a patter in and online crochet magazine...I don't do patterns...so I went to You Tube to learn the V stitch...I modified it from the video so it would more match the scarf...then I did my best to make my own version...it came our really close!!

This is a cowl I crocheted...I was thrilled!! I was not happy with the edges when I finished so I went bad and added a lacy edge and it was just the perfect touch. The pattern in the yarn came out so pretty on this. I am giving it as a gift to a lady at my church. It just kept calling her name each time I looked at it!! I always feel like it's a God thing when that happens. God uses us to bless people for Him..we just have to be aware enough to recognize it. I am just learning...and it blesses me so much when God uses me in such a special way!

Loom Knitting

This is a hat set that I was blessed to make.... Many thanks to my dear friend Ms Kay for teaching to me look for and recognize Gods blessings!!

This I was super excited about! So excited with the outcome... I did the ewrap stitch on a DaLooms regular gauge hat loom... increasing to the point of the scarf then decreasing back to the other side....I did a crochet border. It is basically a simple prayer shawl on a smaller scale.

I made this hat for my dear friend, MaryEllen's son, Harrison... he loves Angry Birds...I made it to small so I will have to make him a new one. I just was not thinking... if you know of a child up to about age 3 that would love this hat please let me know.

I love to make Scats... Hat/Scarf combo... they are one of my favorite things to make. This is the frist one I made with just one yarn color...I really like how it turned out!!

This hat was inspired by Dawn aka Backwoods Knifty Knits..... she is a wonderful needle knitter that I befriended on Facebook.... she makes these all the time..in fact she made a business out of making these hats and does a beautiful job...I just knew I had to make me one the first time I saw hers...but it has taken me months to get up the nerve to make one... I am so excited at how it turned out!! As many times as I went to her hat for reference I forgot it had red hair!...LOL... mine is done on a loom and I chose to do all knit stitches and crochet around the edges of the hat... I made a hat similar to this one and a sweet lady I met through Facebook and a high school classmate took a kitten of mine...she saw my other hat and ask me if I sold these hats.... I said no... orders make me crazy!! She said she understood...I later ran into her cousin that I had graduated high school with and learned she will be going through chemo...I felt so small that I had not said I would make her a hat... I made this one as a gift to her!! She is a real sweetheart and has taken one of my kittens and loves it dearly... I hope she is pleased with her hat!

I have been working on this set the past week...started over on the blanket 3 times...but finally got the look I wanted for the center... The blanket is knitted on my DaLooms Infinity loom... and then I added a crochet border... the hat is knitted on one of my Knifty Knitter round looms...then I added a crochet border to match the blanket.... and then I used a pattern (don't faint)...I motified the pattern a bit to get the look that I wanted... I ended up with two sets of booties...one for a giant baby... the patter called for an H hook... I ended up using a G hook on the second pair so they would fit a baby... I did a few other changes too...so excited that I am learning! Learning new things is so much fun. Too bad I didn't know that when I was in school!!... :o) Thanks for looking... Hugs, Jeannie

I saw a hat a while back that had two of the sweetest ruffles on it...I loved it and had no idea how to do these ruffles.... the look to be knitted onto the hat... and I don't use needles... I use looms... so I though oh well. Lately I have been teaching myself to crochet... a friend taught me a few things years ago...so I thought surely I could figure this all out... so I have been playing... and learning.... woke up in the middle of the night one day and said...oh I know how to make a ruffle on a hat... later that day I went to work adding crochet to my knitted hat.... I hate reading and following patterns... most all of my work is something I get in my head...often from things I see. I was surprised with a trip to Yarnation...and two story yarn store in Memphis...by sweet daughter, Madison and my son-in-law, Cory took me there for Mother's Day...and Robby added to my wonderful gift certificate... I got to really splurge on some beautiful... the yarn I chose to use on my 3ft tri loom is a beautiful Tahki Yarns Angel yarn...it is a core spun yarn and Cory said it reminded him of the ocean... it does look like the ocean or the sea... I did a new first for me...I made twisted fringe... So you can fully appreciate the fringe I will explain...you take two strand... twist each strand to the right the same number of times... I rolled each in my fingers 6 rolls...then you take the two strands together and roll them the same number of times the other way ...then tie a knot...I love the look...but the fringe alone took me about 6 hours. This is my favorite yarn creation so far!!...love it when I get to say that, it means I am learning!! Thank you so much for looking! Hugs, Jeannie

I saw a scarf like this in an older Spin Off magazine and feel in love... I tried using needles to accomplish this since that is what the author of the article did...but I had no luck with needles.. So I got out my trusty Knifty Knitter...the Adult Hat one.. it's the purple one that comes in a single pack... and I went to work recreating the design on my loom... I loved the look of this.. Here are a few things that I have been working on... I have had several things going on at once and got a couple of them finished.... Will tell you a little about each one.

This yarn in this tri loom scarf inspired me to get some things finished so I could play with my new yarn. My daughter, Madison and my son-in-law, Cory took me to this amazing yarn store, Yarnation in Memphis when we visited for Mother's day. They had me a gift certificate so I got to splurge on some amazing yarn.. this is my first creation...and I have some of this yarn left over!!... so excited at how this turned out! I did a first on this one... I made twisted fringe... I love how it looks..but boy on boy it takes a while.. the fringe itself took about 5 hours... .Hugs Jeannie

I saw a scarf like this in a spinning magazine...I actually tired to do it on needles... but I had to go back to my wonderful looms... love my looms...I did this one on one of my KK... I love the look of the thin and thick yarn... I was really proud that I could accomplish this look... I am learning all the time... I love learning new things.

I did this on my rectangle weaving loom... inspired by the scarf above to try the thick and thin yarn in a different way. Instead of weaving diagonally I tried running the thick yarn horizontally and the thin yarn vertically. It was great to use left over yarns in a new and creative way. I kept myself busy today making this new scarf. Robby (dear husband) added a removeable part to my 6 ft loom so that I could make scarves and shawls...I love, love my tri loom!!... love it!! This is a felted Easter Basket... I made it while sitting at the hospital with Mom...You knit your item out of wool...the wash it in hot water and shrink it...it pulls all the stitches together really tight... this shrunk more vertically than horizontally..so it is a bit taller than I wanted...but I am learning!! I made it on my largest round Knifty Knitter... I have now ordered a larger round loom.... I want to make more purses....but I think I am going to have to go up one more size... I love new looms!! I am so excited about this finished shawl...it is made with my own hand spun yarn!!...so when I started this project I started with a pound of dyed wool...and I finished up with this!... is that amazing or what!!??!! Please disregard my steroid face!!... I love too that since Robby (dear husband) made my loom there will be a bit of him in ever shawl I weave... how cool is that!! This wonderful sweet lady I met on Etsy, Kathy who so patiently answered so many of my questions.. who do beautiful weaving ... taught me that you can ware these rolled up like a scarf..and when you need it to keep your shoulders ware you can unroll it to put around your shoulders...so I am showing it both ways... Progress on my Tri Loom Shawl

This is the progress on my first Tri Loom Shawl...had to share because after I add about 50 more strands of frindge I will be out of yarn...and I need a total of 294 pieces of fringe... I am going to have to spin more yarn to finish up!...That is about a 12 hour process...then drying time for the yarn.... so it will be a few days before I get to finish. I love the process of making these...it is so relaxing and yet you feel so productive...I am thinking the total physical hours it takes me to do this is going to be about 35 to 40 hours counting spinning the wool into yarn...and the weaving and the fringe. But worth every minute. My next one is going to be a red and green plaid! I will have plenty of this green yarn left over after my second spin...and I have some beautiful red roving to spin!...I can't wait. Thanks for looking! ~Hugs, Jeannie

I am so excited about this loom... weaving looms are perfect for showing off beautiful hand spun yarn... I discovered these researching looms and feel in love with them... now I want a rectangle one too. Robby my sweet husband patiently made this for me.. it has over 400 nails in it so it took patience. Here are pictures of him working...and the beginning of my first shawl. I am using my own hand-spun yarn.. I plan to add fringe when I finish... I believe from what I have woven so far this will take me about 16+ hours to weave I think it will be well worth the time...I am just beside myself with excitement!! I have been working on this for a couple of weeks... I had some bad days so I didn't work on it much for a while there... but today I got to finish spinning it and then I got to two-ply it!!... so excited out how it turned out.. I started with 8oz of dyed Mariano wool... and ended up with 364 yards of 2plied sport/fingering weight yarn... I hope to use this on my first Tri Loom project next week.. I had enough of this yarn left over from one of my weaving projects to make a cowl... I was in the mood to knit on Saturday.... and this yarn was in sight... I think it was a meant to be... because it turned out so pretty... It is really soft too... and so simple to make...I did it on the largest round Knifty Knitter loom and just did the e-wrap stitch... I was excited at how this scarf turned out...I had wanted to do something like this with this yarn and didn't think I had enough...and wasn't quite sure how to get the look that I wanted... and I had thought I would not have enough yarn to get the length of a scarf...well after 2 woven scarves I still ended up with enough yarn to make a scarf.. too exciting. I wanted a really loose stitch to show off my hand spun yarn... I used the purple round Knifty Knitter... knitted on a flat panel... I used every other peg....I did a row of k and row of p and a row of k...after my ewrap cast on... then I added the next color (orange ) and did a row of it in e-wrap... left that working strand at the end of the row... the I did a row of p a row of k and a row of p... picked up the orange working yarn... and did a row of ewrap until I reached my desired length. I had fun making this.. used three of my 4 heddles this time...those are the bars that hold the stings that lift the threads that make the design.... I was playing around not sure what exactly I would end up with... but am happy with the outcome... I have a few mistakes... but as I always told my kids "a mistake is only a mistake if you don't learn something" and I am learning so much!!... this scarf has in it some of my very own hand spun, hand dyed yarns... how fun is that... A String of Stitches... I love this.. it is like a long string of purls... there are endless ways to ware it... I thought I would whip it up in a day or two... but it took a while.. working on it on and off.. I made it on my fine gauge loom with tiny sock yarn... it is 24 feet long!!..I don't even want to know how many stitches it has!!...I think I am going to love it!...it would be pretty is an off white color...It is not my design..I have seen it done by several wonderful knitters!!

This is a Summer Scarf/Belt that I made on my Fine Gauge DaLooms Loom... I used a stitch that I created myself on the looms....I used it before on a prayer shawl on a larger loom... it looks so different here...but I love the effect. The prayer shawl was larger but this took much longer. Thanks for looking!!

I am excited about this hat....I wanted something different... when it came to me how to add random pieces of yarn and make them stand out I put down what I was working on and got to work on this hat. I also wanted a way to showcase my hand spun yarn... the pink in the hat is yarn I purchased the other is MY VERY OWN YARN I added a Vertical Drop Stitch that I taught myself how to do on a loom...I had seen it done on needles and went "oh I know how to do this on a loom." Then I did!!... talk about excited!! I also watched a video today on a Crossed Stockinette stitch...it is a simple you knit one peg and ewrap the next...I like the uneven look it gives. I know there is a name for how this hat looks but I can't think of it... I am really excited at how it turned out!! I used my purple round Knifty Knitter.... I love, love loom knitting!!

Wanted to share my 2 plied yarn and some more yarn that I started spinning today. Today was a wonderful spinning day... it all just came together... I was drafting and spinning all at the same time.... my wheel was going in the right direction ..... I was stopping the wheel anytime I needed to... I had a few adjustments to make but I was able to make them... the blue yarn in the picture is bulky yarn...this new yarn is much finer...I think when it's 2 plied it is going to be more of a worsted weight... Spinning is so so much fun!..I am loving it!

This Yarn reminds me of a Grape Popsicle... This is my first project that I did so much!...I dyed the roving... I spun the yarn...added ribbon and tulleing (sp?) as I spun to part of the yarn...then I had to go back and add more ribbon to the hat after I knitted it on my loom.... all the bows piled up in just a couple of places... but hey I am learning!! Lookie!! Lookie!!! What my sweet husband made me... the shopping too a while the loom actually only took him about an hour and a half to make!!... It needs a couple of adjustments... then it will be good to go!... I made my first Hand Spun Yarn...this was a half an ounce of wool I had on hand from needle felting... 1/2 an ounce of roving made 11 yards of yarn... but that is probably way off...I had some parts that are spun way way too tight..and some way loose... maybe about a total yard of good yarn and not all in one spot...but I am learning..and I will learn... then as one lady said on YouTube I can all myself a yarn artist!!... I have been wanting to do this forever!!... Felting on hats is why I wanted the fine gauge looms so bad.... wheel I finally got the chance.... I didn't have much wool roving ...and I used thread I had leftover.. this is a newborn hat... I did the heart by needle felting wool roving into a heart and adding a tail... This is for my brother, Jamie. He is a Fireman and he ask for these... the black and the stripe is a fireman thing... The scarf took me 3 days...and I knitted lots and lots and lots...the scarf has around 11088 stitches + /- a few... the scarf is 6 feet long and 7 inches wide. I am really proud at how it turned out. I used my Purple KK Loom on both. The red stripe in the hat is knitted in... the red stripes in the scarf were added after I finish....and re-added then re-added...now I know the trick. I hope Jamie love this...because I love my brother so much!

My pastor asked me to make his to sweet daughters a toboggan.... I have had them on my looms a few days until I could get their measurements today... now I am worried about the height...but it falls under the heights of youth hats... the green and cream hat I made on my youth size DaLooms loom and the (cross your fingers its big enough). The black hat I made on my Purplep KK round loom. I used three strands of #4 yarn on it... love how bulkey this was... I did the Double Moss Stitch on this hat it is so think and warm.. I have been busy though you can't tell in pictures because I have two hats on looms waiting to get measurements for the height so I will have a perfect fit... Hope to finish those Monday!! It needs work....I think I needed to use two threads when doing the duplicate stitch....but it's done now... My nephew, Trey's hat was too small... so I had to make him another one...I asked what he wanted...he said a black and white hat with a Red A... so this is the best I could do... for my first try... I hope that he is happy .. he is 8...and this is what he wanted... so I think that he will be happy!... it was a learning experience for sure.

I made this hat on my DaLoom's Baby Loom... it is fine gauge loom... I have to tell you this took 63 rows...and there are 74 pegs on this loom....so this hat has 4662 stitches... handmade stitches!!... but it has been so much fun!!! It took me a while to make but I love the small stitches...and the wind is not getting trough this hat!!... I can tell you I can't imagine making a scarf on a fine gauge loom...that could take forever!! For Christmas I am getting the set of 7 FG round looms... I can't wait! Thank you Provo Craft for introducing me to Loom Knitting!! I love it!

Just a Note

My sweet husband Robby, who works for UPS... twisted his foot delivering boxes on Tuesday... boxes went flying... his board went flying... two ladies came flying out the door to check on him...and a ligament in his foot pulled a chunk of bone from his bone... we were at the ER Wednesday morning and at the doctor yesterday... He has been taking care of me (when he was home to) because of my surgery... doing great but not 100% yet.... now we have had to switch roles....and boy have I found out how I am still not over surgery... still tired from it... and second but most important just how much Robby does for me!!

I still have lots to accomplish for Christmas... and am accepting the fact that we are going to do Christmas this year in a bit of a mess...but being together is the most important part!

I got in some new looms.. working on the one last hat I need to finish...but these fine gauge looms... well they take a lot longer... more pegs, smaller stitches... I can't wait to see my first hat on this loom!!

I sure picked the wrong yarn for this hat...the black running through the camo thread ended up solid black in places where I needed it to be a lighter color... then I had to undo like 12 rows of this hat...and I don't have time!!...lol.... I still need to make one more hat...at least its a baby hat.... I can do this one over for Trey after Christmas if he doens't like it...He is in the second grade...I thought he might like the monogram hat!!.... I just wish that I was happier with it! Knifty Knitters / Loom Knitting

I am loving putting designs in hats.... it just feels really rewarding...I need to do one more of these before January for the Children's Pastor at our Church... I only have 2 more hats to make for presents!!...hope to get those made tomorrow...then will be busy with Church stuff the rest of the week...and hopefully I will get all my presents wrapped!!... Ear Flap Hat

I read how to do ear flaps in Isela Phelps book.... and where you put the flaps on the peg to add them to the hat... I marked those pegs on the next to smallest loom... laid it in the middle of my purple loom and laid thread across the middle of both looms to make a cross and marked the center point on both looms... I used this as a guide to decide how to big to make my ear flaps...then I just winged it from there...I knitted these from the end of the strings up!!...I was so so excited when it turned out and the flaps were in the exact right place! This is for my niece Katy for Christmas... she will be in high school next year and their school colors are Blue and White... I so hope that she loves it!! Thank you for looking! Hugs, Jeannie

Toboggan w/Stick Man

The toboggan that I made yesterday was just shy of 8 inches..it came just above my husbands earlobes... this one is 9 inches tall ... it is for my son and he said his ears are getting cold..so this one is made to completely cover his ears and come down to his brows and his neck.... This is a sweater motif and I had to modify it to make the stitches per inch match both vertically and horizontally... it takes a minute to see the stick man... so mostly it looks like a geometrical design... then you see the stick man... I am beyond excited about this hat!!!...I used Chunky yarn on the purple knifty knitter... the chunky yarn is wonderful!!... this toboggan to me really looked special!!... the brim is just one layer not brought up through the middle... I did in in KKP,KKP.... and the top of the hat is all K stitches... I bought a used book 1000 Great Knitting Motifs... it is more for sweaters... I didn't realize that when I bought this... I am so excitedto have gotten this order and to have finished it...it started with 2 little girl hats that turned into 4...then she ordered 5 more!!... I missed a few days working on this order because of my surgery .. then the pain meds!!.... but after that this knitting has kept me busy... but "resting"... so it was a God send!... I was busy making things I wanted to give away at Christmas... then I had to play with the coffee cozy... for some reason I just had to make this... I hope to make more they are really quick... this is the cup my DH uses all the time soI made it to fit it..but I want to make one for a taller cup... The off white cowl I made on my S shaped loom and used the whole loom for the length... it hangs really pretty on...the the black cowl is really really soft... I just used one strand of yarn the yarn number was a 6... I used my green loom...half of the peggs and just did the e-wrap stitches..this is so soft and oh so warm...thank you oh so much for looking! I love my Knifty Knitters / Knitting Looms

This is a scarf pattern I made before, it is out of the book I taught myself to LOOM KNIT. Robby bought this book for me at Wal Mart... it has a DVD but that is very dissapointing!!... I have made this scarf before in a thicker thread... Yesterday I was at Hobby Lobby and decided that I was going to have to venture out into new yarns...I ran across this Patons Lace yarn...very fine yarn... it is a #2 on the liggle yarn shaped symbol...I used two threads...I did think that the thread would change faster than it did....this was knitted on a flat pannel on my largest round loom...the pattern is the Lovely Lacy Scarf on page 18 of the book... As many of you know John-Robert, my son cut his dreads this past week... he has had long hair so long...I have been worried about his head getting cold this winter...so this is one more toboggan that I made him... his favorite color is yellow... this is really easy it is just e-wrap cast on.. a knit row and a purl row until you get it as tall as you want it... I did this hat on the Green loom... the brim is a row of purl a row of knit for 12 rows.... and the rest is in knit stitches.

I love loom knitting... I love my Knifty Knitters!!!!!... I have made John-Robert another toboggan... he is loosing all his hair this weekend... a shaved head... I am so worried his head is going to be cold!!.... He has lots of hair it is going to be really different for him!....I hope to get him three boggans made!! But I have so much to do... and I am sick too!

This hat is really simple... I did it on the purple round loom...I knitted for the first rows with one thread so that the rim of the hat would roll up...then I purled the rest of the hat, in two colors...I have started decreasing back to one strand of yarn for the last about 5 rows so that when I draw the hat up it is much less bulky... on this hat I did a yarn over on every other peg for the last row... I knitted the bottom yarn over the top yarn... so that when I gathered the top it would be even less bulky... I love the little design it made in the middle.

I am working to fill up my Etsy shop... I am excited!!... I love making the baby hats they are just too sweet!!.. this one is knitted tight and with a cotton/acrylic yarn of like 3 .5 oz... so it took more rows around the loom... but I have learned to get out my ruler and measure how many stitches are making an inch and then multiply to get the length I want!!...I didn't use a pattern on this... just worked it out on my own! I love learning things from peoples patterns... but then I like to apply it to something that is mine.....I am learning so so much!... Thank you for looking! ..
